Side events within the 2019 EUSDR ANNUAL FORUM, Bucharest, Romania
Roundtable Meeting of the Ministers in charge of Economy from the EUSDR Member States – “On the role of Clusters as instruments for regional development in the framework of the post 2020 Cohesion Policy” (by invitation only)
This event will provide a platform for exchanging high-level views on the role of Clusters as instruments for regional development in the framework of the post 2020 Policy of Cohesion. The goal of this session is to have all EUSDR economy ministers agree upon the role that Clusters should and can play as instruments for better implementing the post2020 Cohesion Policy regionally. The event also offers the opportunity to draw conclusions on past experiences and propose/agree upon future common lines of action that EUSDR member states could take in this direction (on an economic level). The conclusions of the session shall be endorsed by all EUSDR economy ministers and could serve as guiding line/starting point for future action in the field of regional clusters development/future regional economic development.
Exhibition for the presentation of best practices and success stories of transnational cooperation in the Danube Region (support structures for businesses – incubators, business accelerators, clusters)
Venue: Bucharest, the Palace of the Parliament
26-28 June 2019 – Organized by the Ministry for the Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship (MBCCE), in partnership with the Ministry of Economy of Romania. As in previous EUSDR fora, Priority Area Coordinators and other relevant actors of the Danube region (Joint Research Center, Danube Transnational Programme, European Commission, etc.) shall also be offered a space in the exhibition area of the Forum with the aim of informing visitors about the specific activities of the EUSDR Priority Area that they coordinate.
The Exhibition area
The Romanian Ministry for Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship will also organize, all throughout the duration of this event, an exhibition dedicated to best practices & success stories of transnational cooperation in the Danube Region. As such, the Romanian Ministry of Commerce, Business and Entrepreneurship will provide free of charge up to 50 stands in the exhibition area. In the selection process of the relevant institutions/organizations will also be involved DG Grow specialised institutions, DTP, PACs, interested embassies of MS of the EUSDR and other relevant stakeholders.
The exhibition will take place in the hallways of the Romanian Palace of Parliament. The building offers enough room and is considered a highly adequate space for this kind of event. DTP, DSP, JRC, PACs and other relevant stakeholders will be offered a space in the exhibition area.
As in the previous Forum, the Pole leaders of each Thematic Pole of the DTP Capitalisation Strategy could be in charge of the project stands, according to the relevant topics covered by their Poles and the 4 thematic priorities of the programme. Apart from presenting the achievements gained at programme level, considering the successful results of the DTP projects on various topics, some space should be given to the projects to present their results.
The B2B session will be organised Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) and regional partners, represented by the Romanian Association for Electronic and Software Industry (member of the EEN) and with the support of the Romanian Ministry for Business Environment, Trade and Entrepreneurship and the European Commission/ DGGROW. EEN will facilitate meetings and exchange between SMEs, universities, chambers of commerce, clusters and other stakeholders in the Danube Region with the objective to find partners for new projects and/or explore new business opportunities.
SMEs and other stakeholders from all around the region will be invited to take part in the B2B sessions (rooms for B2B meetings would be located nearby the space where the exhibition will take place).

Workshops on the Capitalization of the Interreg DTP projects
27 June 2019 (morning) – Organized by the Danube Transnational Program JS
Considering the successful outcomes gained by the DTP Capitalisation Strategy through its Thematic Poles, fostering synergies among topic-related projects and increasing the impact of the project results, DTP aims to organise a specific side-event to highlight these outcomes. EUSDR Priority Area Coordinators have been closely involved in the activities of the Poles, showing the benefits of a close alignment of the programme and the Strategy. The Annual Forum is an excellent opportunity to inform those interested stakeholders about the DTP Capitalisation Strategy outcomes as a good example of cooperation between DTP and EUSDR.
Public consultations on the Revision Process of the Action Plan of EUSDR
Date: 27 of June 2019 (morning) – Organized by the Danube Strategy Point with support of Romanian Presidency and DG Regio
For this event, we expect large participation: the EUSDR stakeholders, including National Coordinators and Priority Area Coordinators and Civil Society representatives taken part in „National Participation Days” in EUSDR countries and other interested actors.
This event will allow stakeholders to take stock of EUSDR progress and at the same time become more involved in shaping the Strategy’s future by sharing concrete proposals for the final stage of EUSDR’s Action Plan Process of Revision. The Public Hearing will be organized by the DSP, in collaboration with the Romanian Presidency of EUSDR and COM.
Danube Participation Days
26 June 2019 (back to back with the 8th Edition of the Annual Forum of the EUSRD)
Event organized by EuroVienna/City of Vienna and the Centre of European Perspective (coordinators of Priority Area 10) and Danube Civil Society Forum, in partnership with MFA – EUSDR Office, and the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration of Romania (PA 10). Concept and program will follow.
The 18th meeting of the coordination committee / Steering Group of the PA3
Date: 27 of June 2019
Venue: Bucharest, at the premises of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration of Romania
Within the margins of the Forum, the 18th meeting of the coordination committee / Steering Group of the PA3, organized by the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Administration of Romania and BG Coordinator of PA3, will also take place. PA3, jointly coordinated by RO and BG is one of the most successful PA of EUSDR. Once we have managed to jointly identify future common lines of action and managed to acquire/the political commitment needed our ideas into operational policies and measures, a look into the future will offer a longer term improvement of the Danube Region, as well as increased cohesion and better alignment of EUSDR to EU policies in the post2020 framework.
The Workshop “The Working Community of the Danube Regions”

The Office of the Lower Austrian Provincial Government proposed organizing the an workshop event “Working Community of the Danube Regions“ (ARGE Donauländer), back to back with the 8th Edition of the Annual Forum of the EUSRD.
The aim of the side event is to highlight the opportunities for strengthening the regional level through the work of the Working Community of the Danube Regions, showing its added value for danubian regions and also presenting some best practice examples for cooperation in this region.
PA8 Workshop on competitiveness and clusters in the Danube region
Date: 28 of June 2019
Event allowing a best practices exchange within Priority Area (PA) 8 stakeholders. The workshop will be organized by PA 8 Coordinators (Baden Wurttemberg and Croatia).
