The 8th Edition of the EUSDR Annual Forum
As a key event of the 2019 EUSDR Presidency, under the Romanian EU Council Presidency, the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs of Romania, the European Commission and the Danube Transnational Program are jointly organizing the 8th Annual Forum on 27th and the 28th of June 2019 in Bucharest (Palace of Parliament).
The 8th Annual Forum, is being held under the motto: “Building cohesion for a shared prosperity in the Danube Region”, coverring topics of particular importance for the Danube region: connectivity and regional mobility, economy, ICT, environment, tourism, links between Macro-regional strategies, ESIF programs and the new Cohesion Policy. The second day of the Forum will be dedicated to post-2020 EU policy design, with a focus on the role of DTP and EU mainstream operational programs for the region. An emphasis will be placed on the possibilities of creating better synergies between macro-regional strategies and EU programs and policies in the framework of the new Cohesion Policy. Discussions over new opportunities for enhancing funding for macro-regional strategies will also feature in the program prominently.
The 2019 Forum will allow stakeholders to take stock of EUSDR progress and at the same time become involved more in shaping the Strategy’s future by sharing concrete proposals for the final stage of EUSDR’s Action Plan revision within the Public Consultations organized in the margin of the Forum.
The 2019 EUSDR Forum will be preceded by a Ministerial meeting (in the morning of the 27th of June), where Ministers responsible for Business Environment and Economic Affairs of the participating countries will share views and provide strategic guidance for enhancing competitiveness in the Danube region by supporting right policies for SMEs and business support structures in our countries.
Participants are also invited to attend 10 important side events, which will take place back to back to the Forum, starting from 26 of June, 9.00. For more information about participating in the events, please check side-events websites or EUSDR Presidency website.
A Public Consultations on the new EUSDR Action Plan, organized by the Danube Startegy Point in cooperation with RO Presidency of EUSDR and DG Regio, will take place in the margins of the Danube Participation days and the main findings will be discussed within the Forum.
The Romanian Ministry for Business Environment, Commerce and Entrepreneurship will also organize, all throughout the duration of this event, an Exhibition and an Information Session dedicated to best practices & success stories of transnational cooperation in the Danube Region.
Business to Business (B2B) sessions will be organized for the first time as part of the EUSDR Forum, being organized in partnership with the Enterprise Europe Network and it’s local partner – ARIES. These event aim at bringing businesses, chambers of commerce, research institutes, and other organisations in the region together with a view to assessing new business opportunities and forming relevant partnerships, whenever possible.

The 8th EUSDR Annual Forum will continue the tradition of bringing a balanced number of high level officials and independent civil society experts from both the EU and non-EU countries sharing their expertise on current developments that could impact the Danube region.
Selection of participants will be based on the competitive, gender, national, rural-urban balance and relevance-based applications submitted through the online registration platform. We look forward welcoming participants in the beautiful Palace of Parliament from Bucharest!
